Believe.
Palm Sunday.
Dear Diary,
Palm Sunday.
He entered the city. And although the crowds were cheering him on, Jesus cried tears of sorrow. He cried because he knew their faith was weak. They believed only in the rumors they heard, in the miracles they could see and experience, but they lacked the true and deep sense of knowingness within their hearts. Their joyous emotions were surface level at best because they were dependent on outside circumstances.
What they didn’t realize was that it’s not external circumstances that create real love and joy. It’s about free-falling into a divine plan that is beyond what they can see and comprehend. To feel gentleness and softness in their hearts and let this have a ripple effect across their communities, across family members, friends and enemies, and across the world. It’s believing in love with all their hearts and minds and souls.
So Jesus cried that day. He could foresee that when those seeking to harm him were successful, that these same people would turn their backs on him as well. He could see that their hearts would falter because they were not rooted in true love.

“I keep fighting voices in my mind that say I’m not enough. Every single lie that tells me I will never measure up. Am I more than just the sum of every high and every low? Remind me once again just who I am, because I need to know. You say I am loved when I can’t feel a thing. You say I am strong when I think I am weak. You say I am held when I am falling short. And when I don’t belong, oh, you say I AM YOURS...” - Lauren Daigle
