New Moon in Scorpio, the Presidential Election, and the Power of Love

It's not a coincidence that America's presidential elections happen every four years during scorpio season.

Dear Diary,

Today there is a new moon in Scorpio. This invisible moon punctuates the Scorpio season with a transformation. It is the phoenix rising from the flames. It is the majestic entrance of a powerful bird symbolizing renewal and resurrection. Endings and beginnings. Death and rebirth.

And it was during this Scorpio time of the year, four years ago, that I began my transformation in the realm of politics. Manhattan was a ghost town. There was a bat virus that flew in, all the way from China. And it was haunting the streets of New York. And so everyone hid away in their apartments. It looked like a Hollywood movie set, a desert town, an Armageddon, and I was the only actor on scene, strolling the empty streets. But I soon found that it was just a facade. This surrealist world really was a movie scene. Just theater on the world's stage. Just like the people hiding behind their window panes and locked doors, there was a secret waiting to rise from the ashes, waiting to rise from the flames.

Scorpio is the harborer of secrets. It is the many systems that go on behind the scenes. It is the clandestine powers-that-be. It is the double-agent, real life versus the movie script. It's not a coincidence that America's presidential elections happen every four years during the month of Scorpio. On election day, the people go into the voting booth, make their decision, and they cast their votes in private. It runs through the system, the human tallying machine, and then the truth is exposed and rises like the phoenix. Scorpio is the sign of the greatest revelations of love and elation. It refreshes and rejuvenates and renews the world through it's immense emotional depth and strength. But its also the sign of those working behind the scenes to thwart the progress of others. To challenge and oppose them. To use the privacy of others in order to exploit and manipulate and skew the narrative. When the Scorpio strength and depth is used with love, it empowers everyone to be resilient and strong leaders in their own right. If used without love, it seeks to manipulate and disempower others.

In 2020, there was a concerted effort to disempower the people. To coerce the nation into their homes, to mask up in parks and beaches yet unmask when taking a seat at a table to eat at a restaurant. It was the sloppy messy manipulation of the media to skew the narrative of the presidential elections. And that was the beginning of my awakening, my transformation. A transformation imbued with the greatest compassion I've ever felt for humanity as a whole. It was clear that no matter which side of the political spectrum someone was on - the only thing separating us were the systems governing us.

But this presidential contest of 2024 has already proven to be a transformative one in which democrats and republicans and independents and libertarians have all come together in love and compassion for each other to support a candidate on the policies that they agree on. And so whoever wins this presidential contest won't really matter because the people have already won - just by the very fact that we have already begun transforming the current system by refusing to be separated.
