A few months ago when I made the 'Aries Solar Eclipse' Time Capsule episode, it came about because I was going through a series of challenges that made me look deeper into the patterns in the skies, the constellations, the moon, the stars. And since truly, "nothing is new under the sun" (Ecclesiastes 1:10), I looked at an ephemeris chart and found that we had an almost identical Aries solar eclipse on the same date in the year 2005.
That made sense to me. The circumstances were different this time, but there was a similarity - 2005 was a huge turning point in my life, in almost every aspect. Career. Relationships. My old identity and everything I knew was falling away. Although it was a beautiful transformation, I had to walk through the flames of betrayal and lies by those I trusted the most just to get there. Something familiar was happening. But because this was an Aries Solar Eclipse I knew that I wasn't the only one going through a complete identity shift, with life turning itself upside down. Everyone had some kind of walk through the fire. Every individual has a story to tell about how the 2005 eclipses shifted their very identity into something new. And it seems it is happening to each of us once again during this year.
But it also happens on a larger collective scale.
A few months after the 2005 April 8th Aries eclipse, there was Hurricane Katrina which had devastating, heartbreaking effects on New Orleans, and quite literally changed the face, the identity, of this culturally rich and historic place. And now in 2024, we are experiencing something eerily similar because, just a few months after our current April 8th Aries eclipse, we had Hurricane Helene which has swiftly devastated the face, the identity, of parts of Georgia, Florida, Virginia, Tennessee, and the Carolinas.
And today there is yet another Solar Eclipse that will bring its own set of accelerated change. This time in the star sign of Libra.
Libra is the sign of the Judge. The balancer. The justice maker. The peacemaker. It puts everything on the scales. And interestingly, just like the April 8th Solar Eclipse in Aries in 2005, there was also a Solar Eclipse in Libra in 2005 on almost the exact same date. (This eclipse falls on October 2nd, and the 2005 Libra eclipse was October 3rd). In 2005, this Libra eclipse immediately brought Saddam Hussein to trial for crimes against humanity over the decades.
Libra is the polar opposite sign to Aries, which really means they are simply two sides of the same coin. They describe a dichotomy working together to bring meaningful and long-lasting solutions. Where fiery Aries is all about blazing forward with a charge of passion and saying goodbye to the past, Libra comes in to bring equilibrium to the new way, with a Stoic's measured balance.
The star sign of Libra very much correlates to the concepts of ancient Stoicism, balancing the emotions by stepping back and observing, always keeping in mind that we can only accomplish anything when we work hand in hand with God. So, Libra ushers in love and peace to the upheaval. And I think Love is the only way to elevate and expand the consciousness of humanity collectively and individually.
